Daughter of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President, believes the current Convention People's Party (CPP) does not deserve a return of seized assets of the party.
Although Samia Nkrumah admits it was the resources of members of the party that contributed to the acquisition of the properties, she, however, feels the current leadership of the party is not worthy to merit the seized assets.
“Now I think it will be useless to give it to the current CPP,” the former Chairperson of the party said on Joy News Desk on Multi TV, Friday.
She declined to give further details on the actions of the CPP leadership that make them unworthy to be given the seized assets.
Over the years, the CPP has demanded the return of the assets which it says were seized after the overthrow of Dr Kwame Nkrumah in 1966.

Yearly protests by the CPP to demand this from successive governments have not yielded any positive results.
Some of the properties the CPP wants back include the building that currently houses the Information Ministry, the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command building, among others.
Samia made the comments on Friday as Ghana celebrates Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, also known as Founder’s Day, a national holiday that celebrates the birthday of the late Ghanaian leader.
