Asante Kotoko are now four points of leaders Aduana Stars after defeating bottom side, Real Tamale United 3-2 on Wednesday in Kumasi.
The Porcupine Warriors, however survived a late scare as the bottom side pulled a goal late on in the game and could have drawn the match at the Baba Yara Stadium but run out of time.
Richard Mpong, Prince Baffoe and Seidu Bansi scored for Kotoko with Emmanuel Kwamena and Hassan Mohammed find target for RTU.
The win lifts Kotoko into the top-four and calms the pressure after their 2-0 defeat over the weekend to Berekum Chelsea.
For RTU, it marks another bad day just like their season have turned out to be as they extended their winless run to 13 games.
