Sky Sports understands that Fulham have secured a work permit for Derek Boateng.
The Cottagers have been on the Ghana star's trail since last summer, as have a number of clubs including West Brom.
But now Fulham have been successful in their application to bring Boateng into England, as he did not automatically gain a work permit.
Boateng himself has already had a medical and his discussed personal terms, but he has now flown out to South Africa to link-up with Ghana ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Whilst Boateng is Africa, Fulham will look to finalise a deal with his club - Dnipro of Ukraine.
Talks have been ongoing, but there is no hurry for Fulham as Boateng will not be able to play until February anyway due to Ghana's participation in the AFCON.
