A 43‑year‑old man, suspected of being a marijuana addict, from Kwame Nkyi village in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region, is alleged to have attacked a 45‑year‑old farmer, leaving him in critical condition.
According to reports, 43-year-old Kwame Abam returned from his farm, smoked weed in the bush, and later attacked Jojo while he was asleep in front of his house for no apparent reason.
An eyewitness stated that this is not the first time Abam has committed such an act in the community.
After the attack, the suspect attempted to escape but was apprehended and beaten by community members, sustaining serious injuries himself.
Jojo was rushed to Edubiase Government Hospital and later transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
Abam is also receiving treatment at New Edubiase Government Hospital under police protection.
This incident has raised concerns about substance abuse and violence in the area, pressuring authorities to take preventive measures.
