Residents of Adabraka and its environs on Saturday demonstrated their appreciation to Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) and its partner, Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) by turning out in their numbers to enjoy a free medical screening organised by the two companies.
This gesture forms part of ABL’s value of doing its best for local communities by helping create a thriving world through various sustainable development programmes.
Over the past years, thousands of residents have benefited from the annual free health screening exercise organised to sustain and improve the health of individuals residing in the Adabraka and its surrounding communities, where ABL and GCGL operate.
This year’s wellness programme saw over one thousand five hundred residents benefitting from free dental screening, eye and breast examination as well as general medical screening and treatments.
ABL and GCGL also registered over 1000 minors, middle-aged and the aged onto the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Speaking at the function, Adjoba Kyiamah; Corporate & Legal Affairs Director, Accra Brewery, said ABL sees itself as a force for good in the country and the health screening exercise is one of the company’s efforts at fostering healthy communities where individual wellbeing is promoted for prosperity.
“At Accra Brewery, we recognise that the long-term sustainability of our business depends on growing economies ,healthy communities and the responsible use of scarce natural resources, we have therefore committed ourselves to integrate these issues into our business through wellbeing programmes such as the annual Adabraka Health Screening. Our success is interwoven with our local communities because good health is an essential component in the development of every community” she affirmed.
The wellbeing programme which was supported by Lions Club of Accra, Kinapharma Limited, Dannex Phamacueticals Limited, Deutsche Gesellschaft für InternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as well as Voltic (GH) Limited also saw several employees of ABL volunteering their time towards a healthy community.
The Accra Brewery’s Sustainable Development Goals amongst others, aim at creating a Thriving, Sociable, Clean, Productive and Resilient Worlds. During its eight decades of operation, the company has demonstrated its love for Ghana by investing in the areas of health, education, entrepreneurship and sanitation.
