Adutwum donates GH¢200K to Ablekuma North candidate ahead of re-run

NPP flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has donated GH¢200,000 to support Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, the party’s parliamentary candidate in the upcoming Ablekuma North re-run elections.

The re-run, which covers 19 polling stations, follows the Electoral Commission’s decision to abandon an initial plan to collate results from three disputed polling stations.

Despite failing to secure a court injunction to halt the re-run, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie remains in the race and says she is confident of victory, insisting she already won the parliamentary contest by beating the NDC’s candidate.

Dr. Adutwum’s donation, according to his team, is aimed at boosting her campaign capacity, particularly in light of the short notice given by the EC.

The team says the gesture is to ensure the NPP retains the seat, which has historically been one of its strongholds.

Dr Adutwum’s team has confirmed the donation and extended best wishes to the candidate as she heads into the contest.
