The Vice Chairperson of Ghana’s top rural bank, Ahantaman Rural Bank PLC, Elizabeth Obeng, has been crowned ‘Ghana's Most Outstanding Female in Rural Banking’ at the just-ended 10th Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards 2024 held at the luxurious Accra Marriot hotel.
The award signifies her stunning leadership qualities and exceptional commitment to providing quality financial services and also for being a respected personality advocating for best business practices in the sector.
The Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards organised on July 5 by The Business Executive Magazine Limited seeks to publicly recognize women in Ghana who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in various forms of endeavours across both the public and private sectors, such as entrepreneurs, professionals, corporate executives, public institution managers, diplomats, sportswomen, traditional rulers, and others.
The accolade automatically ushers her as a “SHE ACHIEVER” which is the topmost connective female network platform in Ghana.
Interacting with the media after receiving the honours, Elizabeth Obeng said, this recognition is a testament to the team's dedication to excellence in every aspect of their operations.
According to her, this reflects her commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality customer satisfaction and also setting a benchmark for others to follow.

About Ms. Elizabeth Obeng (Ahantaman Rural Bank)

Miss Elizabeth Obeng is presently the Director of Internal Audit at the Takoradi Technical University.
She is also a Director on the Board of Ahantaman Rural Bank PLC serving as the Vice Chairperson and Chairperson of the Finance, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee of the Board.
She holds professional qualifications in accounting, auditing and taxation awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana and the Chartered Institute of Taxation respectively.
She also holds an MBA in Management Information Systems from the Paris Graduate School of Management; an MSc in Finance and Accounting from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast.

She has meritoriously served at the Directorates of Internal Audit and Finance of the Takoradi Technical University for 27 years, rising through the ranks to her current position as Director of Internal Audit.
As a Board member of Ahantaman Rural Bank, Elizabeth has led a team to assist girls in second-cycle institutions in the catchment area of the Bank to open bank accounts with the bank thereby teaching them the culture of savings at an early age.
Ms Obeng single-handedly assisted women in forming groups to access micro-loans from the Bank to start or expand their businesses.
Her advocacy at the Board level led to a greater chunk of the bank’s corporate social responsibility budget being allocated to women and child-centred activities to the benefit of all.
