President Akufo -Addo has requested the Christian community to dedicate Sunday’s church service to pray for peaceful elections as the nation heads to the polls on Monday, December 7, 2020.
This request is in line with the President’s belief that we are all of the Lord’s, and notwithstanding the fact that all the arrangements necessary for peaceful polls have been made, the intervention of the Almighty is still absolutely crucial.
According to a statement issued by the Information Ministry, the President reiterated his belief that the battle is still the Lord’s.
Already, President Akufo-Addo has signed the Presidential Peace Pact 2020 where he reiterated his commitment to the peace and stability of the country.
Delivering his speech, the President assured the Ghanaian people of his readiness to accept the verdict of the election.
“I have said that we believe in elections, and I am happy to give my word that we shall accept the verdict of the people of Ghana. Above all, I pledge that the peace, unity and safety of Ghana will be our primary consideration,” the President said.
