The Member of Parliament for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, has paid a working visit to the Taifa Community School to inspect the ongoing renovation of its Kindergarten (KG) block as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure within the constituency.
The visit, which forms part of the MP’s broader commitment to enhancing teaching and learning conditions, saw Mrs. Akurugu interact with school authorities, teachers, and pupils while assessing the progress of work on the facility.
Speaking during the inspection, Mrs. Akurugu reaffirmed her dedication to ensuring the timely completion of the project.
“Education remains a priority for me as a Member of Parliament. This renovation will provide a safe and conducive environment for our young learners, and I am committed to ensuring that the project is completed on schedule and to the highest standard,” she stated.
She noted that improving early childhood education infrastructure is crucial to strengthening the foundation of academic development within the constituency.
During her engagement with the media, Mrs. Akurugu also addressed concerns about an abandoned school building project at Abokobi Senior High School, indicating that steps are being taken to secure resources for its renovation and completion.
“We are actively working to revive the abandoned building at Abokobi Senior High School to ensure it serves its intended educational purpose. I am engaging relevant stakeholders to mobilize the needed support for its completion,” she said.

The MP further disclosed plans to facilitate the construction of an astroturf within the constituency to promote sports development and youth engagement.
“Sports is an important tool for youth development, and we are pushing for the establishment of an astroturf facility to nurture talents and provide recreational opportunities for our young people,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Manager in charge of Carpentry for the project assured stakeholders of the contractor’s commitment to delivering quality work within the stipulated timeframe.
“We are working diligently to ensure the renovation is completed quickly and meets all required standards so that pupils can resume studies in a better learning environment,” he assured.
Officials from the Education Coordinating Office, who accompanied the MP during the tour, expressed appreciation to all stakeholders and the contractor for their cooperation and dedication towards the successful execution of the renovation project.
The KG block renovation, when completed, is expected to significantly enhance early childhood education delivery and improve learning conditions for pupils within the Taifa community.
