The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, has presented tools and working equipment to mastercraft men and women in the constituency as part of efforts to strengthen skills training under the National Apprenticeship Programme.
The presentation ceremony brought together artisans, apprentices, community leaders, and stakeholders in vocational training. The items distributed included essential working tools aimed at supporting mastercraft persons in training young apprentices and improving productivity in their various trades.
Speaking during the event, Mrs. Akurugu noted that the National Apprenticeship Programme is designed to empower young people with employable skills while supporting experienced artisans who serve as trainers.
She emphasized that equipping mastercraft men and women is crucial in ensuring that apprentices receive practical, hands-on training that meets industry standards.

According to her, the initiative forms part of broader government efforts to reduce unemployment by promoting technical and vocational education within local communities.
She encouraged the beneficiaries to use the tools effectively to train more young people and help expand opportunities for skills development.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support, stating that the tools will enhance their work and enable them to properly mentor apprentices enrolled in the programme.
The intervention is expected to strengthen the apprenticeship ecosystem in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency and contribute to building a skilled workforce capable of driving local economic growth.
