The wait is over.
Ghana has won a first gold at this year's All Africa Games.
Narh Wisdom and George Darko beat DR Congo in the men's tennis doubles final on Thursday.
Darko, who is currently ranked number 1 in Ghana's tennis, led the charge with crisp serves while Narh's technique also caught the eye in the 6-4, 6-4 win.
Ghana now has 17 medals, reports Joy Sports' Games correspondent Benedict Owusu as at 1130 GMT, Thursday.
The Games in Congo Brazzaville end on Saturday with Team Ghana racing to beat the 19 medal-haul the country won in 2011.
On Wednesday, Jordan Yamoah won silver in the men’s pole vault event after clearing a height of 5.20m to finish second behind Algeria’s Cherabi Hichem Khalil (5.25m).
Ghana won the bronze medal in the men’s 4 x 100 m relay event in a time of 39.71 seconds. The four who run were Daniel Gyasi, Solomon Afful, Emmanuel Dasor, and Shepard Agbeko.
They were beaten by Cote d’Ivoire's 38.93 while Namibia placed second with 39.22.
Julia Agawu won bronze in the women’s discus with a throw of 49.08m.
Janet Amponsah and Dorcas Gyimah both qualified for the second round of the women’s 200m event while Ghana also qualified for the second round of men’s 4 x 400m event.
