The Founder and Leader of Fountain Gate Chapel, Rev Eastwood Anaba has tasked men of God in the country to live modestly and refrain from assigning titles to themselves.
He stated that the use of titles such as “Doctor, senior pastors”, among others, were unnecessary additions in the sight of God because the title pastor or reverend supersedes any other title.
Rev Anaba said assigning variety of titles to oneself does not make one an anointed man of God, stressing that commitment of the person to obey God was important.
Rev Anaba made the disclosure on Friday when he delivered a sermon entitled, “Divine honour” to climax the week-long revival crusade of the Church of God in Kumasi dubbed “Super natural manifestations”.
The man of God bemoaned the practice whereby people employ evil measures to become powerful in the society.
According to him, people were eager to commit murder and other heinous crimes in order to be called Honourable Member of Parliament (MPs), chief, queen mother, among others.
He said even in the church people were eager to do the unthinkable to win positions of authority so they would be respected in the church.
Rev Anaba noted that the time has come for people to realize that honour accorded by society is unimportant.
The founder and leader entreated Christians to accept the fact that God can honour them so they should wait upon the lord for divine honour.
