Bechem United coach Manual Zacharias has hinted strongly Kotoko can easily become league champions but their tactical ineptitude could be their undoing come the end of the season.
REASON:
Kotoko have failed to beat the Hunters in 210 minutes of football (90 minutes + 30 minutes FA Cup and 90 minutes league).
Despite having the chunk of possession, the Porcupine Warriors have just failed to carve openings against the well-structured Bechem United side.
In Kotoko’s only triumph against Bechem United (in May), the Bechem side were still assimilating the ideas of the Portuguese trainer with
Kotoko nicking the winner through Frank Sarfo Gyamfi late in the game.
A few months later, Michael Osei and Kotoko seem to have no answers to Bechem.

ZACHARIAS QUOTES
If I’m the coach of Kotoko, I will change many things in Kotoko because Kotoko has good players. But coach is coach, philosophy is philosophy.Kotoko with another system can be champions. They have everything to be champions but Kotoko are nervous, so they can’t take control.”
JUSTIFIED?
Michael Osei has largely relied on a traditional 4-4-2 throughout his spell with the club. At the heart of his system have been Theophilus Nyame and Stephen Nyarko controlling the pace of the game with Eric Donkor and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi providing the width. The Porcupine Warriors had Nyame suspended with Richard Osei Agyeman (who has so far been playing as a center back) replacing him while Stephen Nyarko was off color. This contributed to a slow, sideways and lack of incisive sequence of play by the Reds. With Bechem sitting so deep, it was imperative on Kotoko to up the tempo and break the lines of their opponents. In this moment, it seems a case of a poor day at the office rather the tactical bankruptcy by Osei…
