Andre Ayew celebrated his 29th birthday by scoring on his return from injury as Fenerbahçe threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Erzurumspor in the Turkey Super Lig on Monday.
The Ghanaian, who hadn’t played since Nov. 25 due to a fractured finger, started the game and opened the scoring for the host in the 18th minute with a fine header.
It was his fourth topflight goal in 14 appearances involving 14 starts since completing a loan move from English side Swansea City in the summer.
Former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel added the second goal on 27 minutes before Erzurumspor pulled one back through Emrah Bassan in the second half.
With few minutes to end proceedings, Lennart Thy stunned the home side with a neat finish to secure a point for Erzurumspor.
The draw sees Fenerbahçe remain in the relegation zone.
