The University of Ghana has issued new directives on how the public can access its roads.
Members of the general public who wish to be considered for a UG sticker may submit an application to the director of physical development and municipal services, in a press release Thursday.
The University last week suspended its controversial road toll system after a promise by government to pay for the maintenance of their newly constructed road as well as absorb the loan the school took to reconstruct the roads.
The statement adds, the University said the new measures will take effect from March 15.
According to the University the objective of the directive is to re-establish and maintain a serene atmosphere that is conducive for academic work.
Motorists using the university’s roads will be restricted to the stadium entrance of the school which will remain open for 24 hours a day.
Vehicles entering the university by the stadium will be required to exit campus by the same route.
The statement says all other entry points, including the one at the link gate on the road from Achimota and on the Haatso road will not be open to the general public.
Vehicles with a UG Sticker may however enter through any of the designated points.
