Appolonia City recently welcomed a high-powered delegation from the China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, as part of efforts to deepen investment and trade ties between Ghana and China.
The visiting delegation, led by Dr. Francis Agyenim Boateng, was accompanied by representatives from key Ghanaian institutions, including the Ministry of Trade, Agri-Business and Industry, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), insurance giant GLICO, and the Association of Ghanaian Industries (AGI).
The visit forms part of ongoing engagements to explore investment opportunities in real estate, infrastructure, agribusiness, and industrial park development in Ghana.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Agyenim Boateng emphasised the importance of fostering strategic partnerships that drive sustainable growth.
He noted that collaborations between Chinese investors and Ghanaian stakeholders hold “immense potential to unlock industrial and technological advancement, create jobs, and strengthen Ghana’s position as a hub for trade in West Africa.”
Officials from the Ministry of Trade highlighted government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for foreign investment, while representatives from CSIR and AGI underscored the importance of technology transfer, innovation, and supporting local industries.
The delegation toured various parts of Appolonia City, including the Appolonia Industrial Park, where several multinational and local companies are already operating.
They were briefed on the city’s infrastructure, investment-friendly policies, and opportunities available for agribusiness, light manufacturing, and logistics.
Appolonia City management expressed optimism about the prospects of future collaborations.
“We are excited about the opportunity to showcase Appolonia City as a model of urban development in Ghana and look forward to working with both local and international partners to scale up investment,” said Perminas Marisi, Country Head for Rendeavour Ghana and Managing Director for Appolonia City, as he received the delegation on behalf of the entire Appolonia City team.
The visit is expected to pave the way for further discussions on mutually beneficial projects that could significantly boost Ghana’s economic development while strengthening Ghana-China relations.
