A consultant to business man Arthur Paes who is under investigation for allegedly defiling a minor has dismissed media reports his boss is attempting to escape from the country.
Abraham Bruce maintains Arthur Paes is staying put until investigations have been concluded.
The New Crusading Guide newspaper in its August 1, 2012 edition reported that the Netherlands born business man attempted to escape through Togo.
He is being investigated for allegedly defiling an eight year old girl, an allegation Abraham Bruce has been quick to dismiss.
Abraham Bruce told Myjoyonline.com the August 1 report in the Crusading Guide was “annoying” and untrue.
He said Arthur Paes is not running away from the country and quoted him as saying “I have no intention of leaving this country until all the lies said about me in the New Crusading Guide newspaper is cleared by the security agencies.”
According to him the case is still being investigated by the police and wondered why the paper will not wait for the report of the investigation before indicting his client.
He said they are contemplating taking legal action against the paper for the libelous comments against his client.
He insists his client is innocent of the allegations of defilement being leveled against his client, and rather accused a former employee of Arthur Paes as being behind the plot to destroy his reputation.
