Ghana international Ebenezer Assifuah capped a superb performance in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
Ebenezer Assifuah was handed a place in the starting XI when his Sion side travelled to play English Premier League club Liverpool at Anfield.
The Ghanaian player returned the favour for his Sion side with great energy and enthusiasm as he led the attack against Brendan Rodgers’ defence.
Liverpool had a good start in the early stages of the game as Adam Lallana sent the home fans cheering with a fifth minute goal for the Anfield club.
Ebenezer Assifuah rose to the occasion of a tie against a top club in England to score the equalizer from a tight angle as Sion leveled at 1-1 before the first half interval.
The Ghanaian continued his great run of form in the game before his substitution in the 86 minute but neither Liverpool nor Sion could find the back of the net in the second half with the game ending at 1-1.
Assifuah’s Sion top Group B with 4 points as Liverpool lie second with two draws from two games.
