Close to fifty (50) shops at the Assin-Fosu Market in the Central Region have been burnt, after a fuel tanker exploded there Friday.
The tanker reportedly rammed into a truck that had offloaded a quantity of cement into a warehouse in the vicinity and was reversing when the incident occurred.
ASP Owusu Preprah of the Assin-Fosu Divisional Police Command told Myjoyonline.com that personnel from the Fire Service are struggling to put out the fire as the truck is loaded with fuel.

The source said they are yet to record a casualty.
The incident has attracted a huge crowd to the scene, Joy News' Richard Kwadwo Nyarko reported.

This woman wails as as her shop is destroyed in the explosion.
