Black Stars coach Avram Grant claims he did not invite exiled goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey for yesterday’s friendly with Canada despite claims by the Portland Timbers player that he was called up for the game.
Kwarasey who has not played for the Black Stars since the 2014 World Cup was quoted in the local media that he was going to make a return to the team in yesterday’s game but he pulled out after his club requested for his exclusion because of conflicting club versus country commitments.
But Grant explains he never invited the Portland Timbers goalkeeper for the Canada game.
“There is no story, there is nothing in the story.” He is not in the squad and we have to work with the squad we have.
When asked about inviting Kwaresey to the squad, Grant was adamant he did not call the Portland Timbers shot stopper
“No, he was not invited, Invited where?” he asked.
Grant declined to comment on the reported impasse between Kwaresy and the goal keeper’s trainer of the Black Stars.
“You ask me something about what he said? I hardly can answer questions about what I said?”
