The Ayoum Community located between the Oforikrom and the Bosomtwe districts in the Ashanti Region, is faced with transportation challenges due to the stalled fixing of a collapsed bridge in the area.
According to the linguist of Ayoum, Nana Acheampong Ameyaw, the bridge and road construction were awarded on contract five years ago, but no progress has been made.

Community members, especially pupils and women, find it difficult to cross the bridge when it rains.
The community has installed a wooden structure to offer temporary support, but it often gets washed away during heavy rains.
Members of the community are appealing to the Ashanti Regional Minister and the Roads and Highways Department to support them to complete the abandoned road infrastructure in the area.

Eric Frimpong, a resident of Ayoum is unable to cross the river with his car due to the lack of a bridge.
Opanin Kwaku Kusi, the Abusuapanin of Ayoum, observed that armed robbers are increasingly targeting individuals who use that route.
