Ashantigold coach Bashir 'Bash' Hayford is relishing the opportunity to lead his side into next year’s African Champions League campaign.
An experienced coach in the local top flight, who led the Miners to break their 19 year wait for a league title, is now setting his sights on Africa.
Speaking to Joy Sports, Bash expressed confidence in the team's aim - to reciprocate the same style that has caught the eye of many locally.
“Well, we are definitely going to Africa and we want to go and exhibit the type of football we play in Ghana, to Africa. So everybody will see the quality made of Ghana.”
Bash forecast that a key ingredient to their success will be having good and quality preparations. “What is next is that we are going to prepare because that is the stepping stone to lift ourselves up."
Ashantigold will be the country’s sole representative in the Champions League while Tarkwa based Medeama S.C will represent the country in the Confederations Cup by virtue of winning the FA Cup.
