Bayern Munich opened up a three-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga by beating Darmstadt 3-0.
Arturo Vidal and Kingsley Coman both scored their first goals in the Bundesliga for Bayern before Sebastian Rode netted against his former club to make it three.
Bayern coach Pep Guardiola made numerous changes to his side -- but they were still superior to a Darmstadt side who lost for the first time this season.
Wolfsburg moved up to third thanks to a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin.
Substitute Bas Dost scored both goals for Dieter Hecking's men, who had struggled for 75 minutes to break down a Hertha side intent on making life difficult for them at the VW-Arena.
The Dutchman then came on to resolve matters and extend Wolfsburg's unbeaten start to the season, keeping them four points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
Cologne took all three points and local bragging rights with a 1-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach which increases the pressure on their coach Lucien Favre.
Anthony Modeste scored the only goal of the game in the 64th minute to earn the Billy Goats a win their fans cherish more than any other in the Bundesliga.
Ingolstadt became the first top-flight debutants to win their opening three away games when a stoppage-time penalty from Moritz Hartmann earned them a 1-0 victory at Werder Bremen.
Hartmann converted after Assani Lukimya pushed Stefan Lex inside the penalty area in the second minute of time added on and Felix Wiedwald, who had saved his side on numerous occasions until then, could not keep out his spot-kick.
Mid-table sides Hamburg and Eintracht Frankfurt played out a goalless draw at the Volksparkstadion.
Johan Djourou struck the crossbar with Hamburg's best chance of the game in the first half, while Hamburg goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobny made a great save from Alexander Meier before denying Haris Seferovic after the break.
