Berekum Chelsea have switched the venue of Sunday’s CAF Champions league group game against Egyptian side Al Ahly.
The match which was originally scheduled for the Accra stadium has now been moved to the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.
Chelsea adopted the Accra stadium as their home for the group phase of the ongoing competition after their Berekum Golden City Park failed to meet CAF’s requirements.
Nana Oduro Sarfo who is the Accra representative of Berekum Chelsea in an interview with JOY Sports noted how the decision was reached.
“The management of the club has decided that the game has to be played at the Baba Yara stadium instead of the Accra stadium”. Said Oduro Sarfo
“We held a meeting on this and after careful considerations on several issues, we thought it wise to move the mach to Kumasi”.
Chelsea must beat Al Ahly to revive their semi-final qualification hopes after a heavy 4-1 defeat in Cairo to the Egyptian side two weeks ago.
