The Ghana Football Association has tasked newly appointed coach Akwasi Appiah to qualify the team to next year’s Nations Cup in South Africa and the 2014 world cup in Brazil.
Akwasi Appiah has already admitted he has a tough job of coaching the Black Stars after serving as an assistant in the team for 4 years.
The Black Stars have not missed out of the last two World cups played in Germany and South Africa.
President of the Ghana Football Association Kwasi Nyantakyi explains the first target of Kwasi Nyantakyi is to qualify the Black Stars to the next World Cup and the Nations cup.
“For the world cup his target is at least to reach the semi finals and win the 2013 Nations cup in South Africa”. Said Nyantakyi
“We reckon that a lot of things go into performance so we are not going to judge him only on the basis of his achievements but the overall performance and evaluate and decide whether he is done well or not”.
Kwasi Appiah’s first major assignment will be against Lesotho on June 3 in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
