Experienced trainer Herbert Addo has been given the nod to handle a local select side dubbed ‘The Dream Team’ to play the Black Stars in a farewell match ahead of the 2014 World Cup on Friday.
The 63-year-old was announced as head coach by organisers on Monday evening to handle a strong local star-studded squad also unwrapped on Monday evening.
The former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko trainer is currently head coach atGhana Premier League debutants Inter Allies, lifting them from the bottom of the league table to seventh with two games left to wind up the season.
Addo will be in the dug-out with his Allies side on Tuesday as they face giants Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium before taking charge of his team on Thursday morning.
The disciplinarian will aiming to take a shot at fame on Friday evening as he seeks to guide a home-based side including four players each from Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko and rivals Hearts of Oak and several talented collections to beat a star-studded Black Stars side in the farewell match.
Kotoko head coach Mas-Ud Dramani was also in strong contention to be chosen for the fixed-term job but Addo beat him to it following his impressive work at Allies since taking charge miles into the season.
