Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Maxwell Konadu has confirmed exclusively to Asempa Sports that the Ghana Football Association has not officially contacted him to deputize for newly appointed Black stars coach James Kwesi Appiah.
The former captain of the Black stars was appointed as a substantive coach of the senior national team after the departure of Serbian trainer Goran Stevanovic in April. Information reaching Asempa Sports reveals that James Kwesi Appiah has penciled his playing mate at both club and national team levels to assist him on the bench.The proposed assistant coach defeated his archrival Hearts of Oak by 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
“There hasn't been any formal approach either from the GFA or from Kwesi Appiah but will take a decision when I am approached officially. For now am focused on guiding Kotoko to win this season’s league”.
Kotoko lead the premiership log with 12points, with 6games left to finish the season. The two technical heads were in charge of the Black Meteors team that won gold last year September in Maputo, Mozambique in the All Africa Games
