After Ghana’s dramatic 2:1 victory over Team USA, the Black Stars earn the tag of the bogey side for the Americans at the World Cup.Almost in similar fashion, the result was a repeat of the World Cup final group game between the two sides in Germany four years ago. The Black Stars took the lead; the US leveled up, and the Stars stung them again. 2:1 it finished.Saturday’s result at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, Rustenburg, was thus nothing surprising even if it sent Ghanaians partying all night. (On Sunday morning, the airwaves were filled with songs of praise, not very odd though for a religious country like Ghana, but the win has lured even radio stations that have consciously programmed their Sunday mornings away from the cacophony of “Gospel Music” to play songs reinforcing faith - perhaps to remind God they have not forgotten Him.) Many Sunday church sermons laced appreciable lines of God’s Greatness too – for helping us beat America,Next the Black Stars take on Uruguay on Friday for a semi-final berth attempt. What are your expectations, predictions and fears? Can the Black Stars nip Uruguay and look to the cup proper or they have come to the end of the road?Share your views with Myjoyonline.com.
