A youth group in the Northern Region, the Catholic Youth Apostolic for Change is outraged by what it describes as ungodly practices by some priests of the church in the three northern regions.
This was contained in a petition to the Bishops’ Conference and copied to the Vicar General and all Parish priests in the three northern regions.
The group is demanding thorough investigations into allegations of financial impropriety, fornication, and alcoholism among some priests in the church.
Philip Neri Mornah, a leader of the group, told Joy News; “Society is corrupt, society is sick and needs deliverance. The leaders who are supposed to effect the deliverance themselves need deliverance.”
He called on the clergy to reconsider their sermons to “challenge the status quo”.
He also advised the priests who preach against drunkenness to check their drinking habit in public.
