The visit by the Chinese was to acquaint themselves with operations of the company and identify opportunities to enhance China-Ghana bilateral and cultural ties.

The Chinese leader who arrived in Accra with his entourage on Saturday for a four-day state visit is expected to leave the country on Tuesday night.

His Excellency Yu Zhengsheng added he was impressed by the dedication of the waste management company to convert waste into useful resources.

“Additionally, we have extended our services beyond the shores of Ghana to countries like Angola, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia, Liberia, Dubai, India and China.

"In China, our business transactions have not been limited to a small corner of the country. We have expanded our operations to major cities in 12 provinces,” Dr Siaw Agyapong disclosed.

He, however, acknowledged the support and contribution of Tianjin Able Import & Export Trading Co. Ltd, located in Beijing, saying “with their support we have been to build the Compost and Recycling Plant, Sewage Plants, Quarry Plants, Plastics Injection, Assembling Plants and a host of others”.

Against that backdrop, he revealed that with 200 mechanics trained so far, approximately 1,000 trucks are re-assembled annually.

Dr. Siaw Agyapong added with the Assembly Plant, close to 4,000 dustbins are produced annually to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal.

While expressing gratitude to the Chinese government for its unflinching supports towards enhancing his outfit to ensure proper management of waste in country, he urged government to invest more in the sector to create jobs.

Edward Doe-Adjaho, on his part, tasked Jospong Group to work assiduously to strengthen its business ties with the Chinese government.
