Nigerian musician, Brymo, born Olawale Ashimi, according to reports, has been hit with an injunction preventing him from doing anything musically for any other entity until his contract with Chocolate City expires.

Chocolate City signed Brymo, known for several hit songs including 'Ara', in 2010 and released 'TheSonOfaKapenta' album in 2012 with the label.

The artiste confirmed rumours via a tweet on May 28 this year that he had left the record label which also has M.I. and Ice Prince as signed artistes. "It is true, I have left chocolate city," Brymo tweeted.

Shortly after that disclosure, Brymo got himself a new management deal with The Bail Music Company managed by Talent Manager and Music Business Consultant, Lanre Lawal.

With the release of the artiste's latest album, 'Merchants, Dealers & Slaves', Chocolate City, through its law firm, L & A legal Consultants on Monday October 21, have got an injunction against him.

The injunction, the label said, is to restrain "him from recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song, musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing artist through or for the benefit of any person or organisation other than Chocolate City pending the determination of the suit against him. Chocolate City says Brymo's contract remains valid until 2016."

But Brymo has urged his fans and the general public to disregard the alleged injunction stating he believes it a deliberate ploy to divert attention from his latest album.

He tweeted Wednesday that, "Pls disregard all rumours about an injunction on my new album M,D&S, it's all untrue.. Just another ploy to disrupt my release as usual".
