The a coalition from the Eastern Region executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged its unflinching support for Mr Kofi Portuphy’s bid become be National Chairman of the party.
The group christened ‘Eastern for Portuphy (EFoP)’, says the over 2000 members back the ideals and philosophy of ), Mr. Portuphy., who is also the Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO.
In a statement, the group said it is convinced about the sterling leadership qualities of Mr. Kofi Portuphy, hence, its decision to clamour for his chairmanship aspiration.
Acknowledging the efforts of the current leadership of the NDC for winning a second consecutive electoral victory the party, EFoP is however, convinced that Mr.Portuphy can lead the party to victory in the 2016 election.
The NDC coalition is certain Mr Portuphy is a true cadre and an honourable party member.
According the group Mr Portuphy’s leadership ideals will be much need in the 2016 elections becuse it will be more competitive and keen.
The statement further noted that his exploits as Head of the Cocoa Evacuation Task Force in the early days of the 31st December revolution, his leadership qualities as Head of NADMO as well as the role he played in ensuring that NDC garnered more votes in the Zongo communities in the Eastern Region speaks volumes of his abilities.
