Douglas Costa scored a stoppage-time winner to spare Brazil’s blushes in a difficult Copa America opener against Peru.
Since last summer’s World Cup humiliation against Germany, Brazil had won every game, but it took just three minutes for Dunga’s side to fall behind, with Christian Cueva making the most of a defensive mix-up between goalkeeper Jefferson and defender David Luiz to slam a finish home for Peru.
However, Ricardo Gareca’s side held the lead for less than two minutes, with Neymar powering home a header from just six-yards out after being left completely unmarked from a Dani Alves cross into the penalty area.
Brazil struggled to create much in the second half, but found a stoppage-time winner when Neymar threaded a sensational pass through to substitute striker Douglas Costa, who finished calmly at the near post.
Shock-amel Falcao
Venezuela pulled off the biggest shock of the Copa America so far, with Salomon Rondo’s (pictured below) second half header proving the winner for Noel Sanvicente's side against Colombia.
Having made such an impression at least summer’s World Cup - carrying a seven-match winning run into the Copa - Colombia are billed as one of the tournament favourites in Chile, but they struggled to make an impression in their opening game.

James Rodriguez, Radamel Falcao, Carlos Bacca and Juan Cuadrado all failed to impose themselves on the contest, with Venezuela the more dangerous on the counter attack. And they found what proved to be the winner after 60 minutes, when Rondon found the bottom corner with a well-placed header from a Juan Arango cross.
