The Association of Ambulance and Motor Services has warned members of the public to desist from patronizing the services of commercial vehicles for the transport of corpses.
According the association, carrying dead bodies on commercial vehicles has serious health implications which are usually overlooked by those who patronize the service.
The vice president of the Greater Accra branch of the association, Samuel Martey, in an interview with our reporter, Kwaku Antwi-Otoo, said those who engage the services of commercial drivers to carry dead bodies must know that water draining from the corpses can be harmful to one’s health.
He said after this, the same vehicle would be used to convey food items for consumption.
According to him, scores of corpses are collected on daily basis from the morgue and that there is no way they could be out of business.
