Some customers of DKM Diamond Micro Finance at Fongu and Wapaani in the Upper West Region have besieged offices of the company ahead of its official reopening Tuesday.
This follows the lifting of a moratorium placed on the operations of the microfinance company by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) last week.
The BoG banned operations of the company in May for violating the Banking Act 2004 (Act 673).
According to the BoG, the company carried its operations in a manner that was detrimental to the interest of depositors.
The move also banned customers of the microfinance company from making withdrawals from any of its branches nationwide.

Some customers who spoke to Joy News’ Rafiq Salam said they are elated about the reopening.
They however expressed some concerns about how their monies will be released to them.

Alhassan Baba who was in a queue in one of the offices said “I am very happy that they are reopening. At least we can now take our monies from them”.
He said each customer has been given a number and some people have started receiving their monies.

Baba said he is hopeful of taking some money home after several months of struggle.
Another customer Samuel Banye told Rafiq, “it is a welcoming news and I am very happy”.
He however says that he is irritated by the fact that he cannot receive all his money.

“I was expecting an interest that is not being paid and they are telling me I cannot get my full capital but they have not told me how much they will give me...it is not clear to me, that is an insult”, he said.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of the company Martin Delle has urged customers to continue doing business with the company despite recent happenings.
