Lawyers for the Fosu Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta have responded to complaints by Akosua Serwah Fosuh of Germany concerning issues surrounding the funeral and estate of the late highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
In a letter dated October 1, 2025, and signed by Fati Ali-Yallah of Baba Jamal & Associates, the legal team said it was acting on the instructions of the Fosu Family and clarified that Mrs Fosuh had no right to determine how the family would handle the late musician’s funeral arrangements.
According to the letter, Akosua Serwah Fosuh, who was once married to Daddy Lumba, refused to relocate to Ghana with her husband when he became seriously ill about 15 years ago.

The lawyers said this amounted to desertion, adding that she had since presented traditional drinks to signify the dissolution of their marriage, an act recognised under Akan customary practice.

The Fosu family’s lawyers also stated that the family recognises Priscilla Ofori, also known as Odo Broni, as the late musician’s wife. They explained that Odo Broni lived with Daddy Lumba for over 15 years and the couple had six children together.
Addressing concerns about the distribution of the late musician’s properties, the lawyers noted that all assets form part of his estate and will be handled jointly by the family and the children of Daddy Lumba to ensure fair distribution. They advised all parties to stay away from the properties until a legal and equitable process is completed.
The statement also disclosed that the law firm holds some instructions from Daddy Lumba before his demise, which will guide the family on his preferred funeral arrangements and the handling of his estate.
The Fosu Royal Family, through their lawyers, called for calm and urged all parties, including Akosua Serwah Fosuh, to engage in peaceful discussions to ensure a dignified and befitting burial for the late music icon.
