Two strong young men who were part of a gang of four suspected robbers that embarked on a robbery spree with the use of unregistered motor bikes and cutlasses at Tesano on a Sunday afternoon, have been arrested by the police.
Suspect Kofi Moses Selom, 23, aka Kudjei and Kwame David Lagiro, 20, are currently in police custody while Musa and ‘Professor’, their accomplices, are on the run.
The two were grabbed by the police after they gathered at their Abeka hideout to share their booty on the same day.
Narrating the incident to DAILY GUIDE, the Accra Regional Crime Officer, Mr. Frank Adufati, said the suspects attacked two men at their house at Tesano around 12:30 pm on Sunday afternoon and robbed them of various items and money.
“Holding cutlasses in their hands, the four succeeded in taking an amount of GH¢1500, a laptop, and three mobile phones from their victims,” he stated.
He said when the police got the information and rushed to the scene around 2:30pm, the personnel were able to track the suspects to their hideout at Abeka, where two of them were arrested while Musa and ‘Professor’ escaped.
He said upon interrogation, the two arrested persons mentioned one Nii Quaye aka ‘2pm’ as the one who gave them the information and consequently asked them to rob the victims for the booty to be shared.
Superintendent Adufati said Nii Quaye has been arrested and the three would be arraigned soon.
