The 2012 Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia left Ghana on Thursday night for the United States and Canada at the invitation of the United States and Canada branches of the New Patriotic Party.
While in the United States, Dr. Bawumia would hold several discussions and Townhall meetings with the Ghanaian community in Washignton D.C., North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Massachusetts, and California and do same in Toronto and Edmonton in Canada.
Dr. Bawumia will use the opportunity to inform the Ghanaian community and others of issues about the campaign and the proposed plans and programmes the next NPP administration, given the opportunity, would roll out to modernize the Ghanaian society, transform and build a robust economy.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s tour of North America follows several interactions he has had with the Ghanaian electorate and tours he has undertaken since being named running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo in late March.
Accompanying Dr. Bawumia on the trip is the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and the National Youth Organizer of the Party, Mr. Anthony Abayifaa Karbo.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to return to Ghana on 25th July, 2012.
