The pre-burial service of renowned playwright, Efo Kodjo Mawugbe, is currently underway at the forecourt of the State House, Accra. Efo, as he was affectionately called, is being given a state burial in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of the culture, art and drama of the country. The award-winning playwright died on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a protracted battle against prostate cancer and paralysis. Notable amongst them are writer and poet, Professor Atukwei Okine, former Education Minister, Alex Tettey-Enyo, and Local Government Minister Samuel Ofosu Ampofo. More soon.
