The Pharaohs of Egypt take on the 'Chipolopolo' of Zambia in the last match of Group 'C' of the Ghana 2008 Africa Cup of Nations soccer fiesta at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday.
The other Group 'C' match involving Cameroon and the Sudan would be played at the Tamale Sports Stadium on the same day.
Egypt, who are on top of the group with six points following victories over Cameroon whom they defeated 4-2 and Sudan - 3-0, seem to be assured of a quarterfinal berth.
Cameroon and Zambia have three points apiece and which of them join Egypt at the quarterfinals would depend on the outcome of the last group matches.
Zambia also beat Sudan 3-0 in the opening match of the "Group C" while Cameroon lost 2-4 to Egypt but in the second match, Cameroon made amends by whacking Zambia 5-1.
Led by prolific scorer, Samuel Eto'o Fils, who plays for the FC Barcelona, Cameroon look set to advance to the quarterfinal stage.
Meanwhile, the city of Kumasi was set agog by jubilant fans on Monday night when the Black Stars whipped the Atlas Lions of Morocco 2-0 in the last "Group A" match at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.
Led by brass band music, the jubilant fans dressed in the national colours and paraphernalia of Ghana 2008 sang praises of the Stars in contrast to what happened after the Stars' unimpressive 1-0 victory over Namibia, when the streets were deserted.
Cars tooted their horns and the general merry-making attracted lot of people unto the streets with the numerous drinking bars and entertainment centres fully jam-packed.
Many people GNA Sports interviewed had one message for the Stars: "Black Stars we love you, win the trophy to make the nation proud."GNA
