Egypt coach, Hassan Shehata, has named his final squad for Ghana.
Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has even included injured defender Ibrahim Saied in his final 23-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.
"He will be fit in time to play in the Nations Cup," the Pharaoh's doctor said.
But there is no room for the Ismaili defender Sherif Abdul-Fadil or the Petrojet duo of Walid Soliman and Osama Mohamed.
Petrojet midfielder, Ahmed Shaaban, who made his international debut against Namibia last week, impressed and does make the final list following Hossam Ghaly's return to England to complete his move to Derby County.
Egypt begins the defence of their title with a Group C clash against Cameroon on 22nd January before games against Sudan and Zambia.
The final squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Essam Al-Hadari (Al Ahly), Mohamed Abdul-Monsef (Zamalek), Mohamed Sobhi (Ismaili).
Defenders: Shadi Mohamed, Ahmed Fathi (both Al Ahly), Wael Gomaa (Al-Siliya, Qatar), Ibrahim Saied (Ankaragucu, Turkey), Hani Saied, Sayed Moawad (both Ismaili), Mahmoud Fathallah, Tarek Al-Sayed (both Zamalek), Ahmed Al-Muhammadi (ENPPI).
Midfielders: Hosni Abd-Rabou, Omar Gamal (both Ismaili), Mohamed Shawky (Middlesbrough, England), Ahmed Hassan (Anderlecht, Belgium), Hassan Mostafa (Al-Wehda, Saudi Arabia), Ahmed Shaaban (Petrojet), Mohamed Aboutrika (Al Ahly)
