The Electoral Commission (EC) has officially declared the commencement of the replacement process for Voter ID Cards, beginning today, Thursday, May 30, and extending until Friday, June 14, 2024.
This service is specifically tailored for individuals who have misplaced or lost their Voter ID Cards and are gearing up for the upcoming December 7 general elections.
In a statement released on Tuesday, May 28, the EC provided detailed instructions for voters seeking to obtain replacements for their missing Voter ID Cards.

According to the statement, individuals in need of a replacement are required to initiate the process by making a payment through the designated shortcode *222*1067#.
“The cost for replacement is GH¢10 only,” part of the statement read.
The replacement initiative is crucial to ensure that all eligible voters have access to their Voter ID Cards ahead of the upcoming general elections.
With voter identification being a fundamental aspect of the electoral process, the EC's efforts to facilitate replacements demonstrate a commitment to upholding the integrity and inclusivity of the electoral system.
Voters are encouraged to take advantage of the stipulated timeframe to secure their replacements, thereby safeguarding their ability to participate fully in the democratic process come Election Day.
