Ex-Mozambican Athlete Maria Mutola has returned to active sports but this time as the captain of her national women football team participating at the 10th All African Games in Maputo.
The 39-year-old led Mozambique to a 1-0 loss to Cameroon in their group opener at the Zimpeto Stadium on Monday.
Despite the disappointing result, she wants to increase her medal archives with a football medal because it has been her dream.
Mutola, was noted for dominating the 800 metres event, winning the title at the 1993 and 1995 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics and the 1993 IAAF World Championships in Athletics.
