The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has denied claims of ex-Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic that his safety could not be guaranteed in the country.Despite the claims by Stevanovic, the GFA insists it will continue to engage the coach to reach an amicable deal over his compensation package.A meeting was scheduled for Friday with the coach's lawyer Zoran Andjic to continue the discussion over his compensation package. But the lawyer requested for the meeting to be brought forward to Wednesday. However, Andjic issued a press statement claiming his client was told that his safety could not be guaranteed during the meeting in Accra on Monday.Stevanovic's lawyer said that vice-president of the GFA Jordan Anagbla issued the threat but the GFA insists the claim by Andjic is inaccurate."Coach Goran Stevanovic and Mr Zoran Andjic were never threatened by anybody in the course of our meeting and even thereafter," GFA general secretary Emmanuel Gyimah said in a letter copied to FIFA."If indeed there was perception of a threat to their security and safety or even an inability to guarantee their security and safety, it will not have been possible to even shift a meeting forward."At worse you would rather have called off the meeting off that very day."Stevanovic is even on record after the meeting on Monday informed the whole world via the media that the said meeting was fruitful and friendly."The GFA says it will continue to engage Stevanovic for an amicable solution over his compensation package.
