Family of a taxi driver, 22, lynched at Sawaba in Kumasi for knocking down a pedestrian is demanding justice after the accident victim was treated and discharged for minor injuries..
Awudu Ibrahim was dragged out of a gas station where he sought refuge after the accident and beaten to a pulp.
A graphic video of the deceased being beaten with sticks has attracted angry reaction after it went viral on social media.
Mother of the deceased is calling for justice.
The deceased, affectionately called Bebrebe knocked a motor rider with his taxi cab. resulting in the victim sustaining bruises to the arm and head.
An angry mob, some physically built men from the Sewaba community, chased him and dragged him out of the premises of the gas station an attendant told Luv News.
In the circulated video, the deceased is shown being manhandled by several men with the physically built men stepping on his head, slapping and punching him.
At a point, he is strapped down whilst in some parts he is beaten with sticks. He was then bundled into a bucket of a tricycle.
What happened next as given in separate eyewitness accounts is further torturing of the deceased until he became unconscious.
Police later rushed him to the Manhyia hospital where he died.
Two people were arrested but were released after police say investigations failed to link them to the incident.
Police say four men identified in the video are currently at large.
