The Food and Drugs Board is on the hunt for those behind the importation of a quantity of unwholesome meat uncovered at the Takoradi Port.Officials say the container-load of unwholesome meat was brought into the country from the Netherlands.Head of the Food Division at the FDB, John Odame Darkwa told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show that an operation is underway to arrest owners of the container.Mr Odame said when the container was opened it was difficult to find what meat product it was.He wondered why anybody will invest money in importing such a product into the country, when there are a lot of nutritious products in Ghana to be consumed. He said the days when people imported just anything into the country were long gone and assured his outfit will bring the importers of the unwholesome meat to book.“We shall make it public when we dispose off it. I believe we have a lot of nutritious food we can patronize as a country than to just collect anything at all and dump it here. Maybe just for the sake of finding a dumping ground or to make money.""I am sorry those days are gone. We shall be there and we will not permit you," he warned.Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
