Fidelity Bank is to roll out the first set of its Post Office-based banks from October this year.
The bank is hoping that a total of 20 branches will be launched in the first phase of the rollout.
The initial agreement in 2008 would have seen the two bodies share profits, but officials say the bank will now simply pay rent for the use of the space.
A model of the “Post Bank” concept has been in operation for about a year now at the Kumasi Stadium Post Office at Amakom.
Fidelity Bank Managing Director Edward Effah tells Joy Business the “Post Banks” will add to some 30 full branches it hopes to roll out in the next three years.
The bank currently has 20 branches.
