Fidelity Bank organized a fire safety exercise at its Head Office Annex, Orange Height at Tesano in Accra, Friday.
The exercise was in association with the Ghana Fire Service, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), National Ambulance Service and Ghana Police Service.
The fire safety drill was to test and demonstrate the bank’s readiness in the unlikely event of a fire disaster.
It also forms part of the Bank’s Business Continuity Plan and fulfils regulatory and international safety requirement on institutional preparedness and evacuation for fire.
During the exercise, the Fire Service team created artificial smoke and fire wardens were put in positions to assist in evacuating staff and customers to the fire assembly point, where headcount was done.
Staff of the Bank responded to the drill unreservedly and performed as they had been trained to do in the unlikely event of a fire outbreak.
The fire service applauded the staff of the bank for their swift response and collaboration during the exercise.
The Chief Risk Officer of Fidelity Bank, Shirley-Ann Awuletey-Williams, was happy they tested our readiness, resilience and business protection by simulating fire and an emergency building evacuation drill today.
“In all, our employees, as well as our cherished clients, were all safely evacuated,” she said.
She assured their customers and stakeholders of the highest form of safety and security for their investments.
