FIFA have confirmed that they will distribute £142m to clubs for release of players during 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
It has been announced that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be held during November and December, with the final played on December 18.
The dates will cause havoc with domestic European leagues, and it was initially announced that no compensation would be paid.
However, FIFA have now confirmed that they will compensate clubs for release of their players and are willing to pay out a total of £142m.
"A total of $209 million (£142m) will be distributed among the clubs releasing players to the participating teams in the 2018 FIFA World Cup (in Russia)," FIFA said in a statement.
"The same amount has been agreed for the 22nd edition to be staged in Qatar in 2022."
