Volunteers working for the Ghana National Fire Service in Brong Ahafo have resigned en masse over the imprisonment of some of their colleagues over a shooting incident.
The volunteers claim their colleague was gunned down by a hunter who was operating illegally in a forest reserve at Nsuatare last month.
According to them, the police wrongly arrested some of their leaders over claims by the mother of the culprit that they had shot her son.
Regional Fire Officer Paul Opoku tells Joy News they are unhappy with the police’s handling of the issue.
The victim has since been buried.
